Reggae is a type of music that originated in Jamaica and later spread to Britain, the United States, and Africa. Bob Marley is the most popular reggae singer and has a son, Ziggy Marley, who is another great reggae singer. Reggae was based on the early music called ska, which was mostly beat but had very important lyrics it. Bob Marley started a concert to spread peace across Jamaica, and other singers joined him to change the country's view. Bob Marley spread peace with all of the dangerous shooters that are from Jamaica. Some great singers are Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Rootz Underground, Sister Nancy, Yellowman, and Ziggy Marley. Rootz Underground is one of my favorites, with one of the main singers being my parents' close friend. Reggae is still one of the most popular types of music to this day, even though most of the famous reggae singers have died. Reggae spread peace around Jamaica and shaped the country we know and love today.
